How do I set up the payment processing terminal on my phone?
Crowded offers an In Person Payments POS (Point of Sale) feature which allows users to accept payments from debit or credit cards directly from your phone!
For a contact to use this feature, make sure that your admin has set this up first.
- Log in to the Crowded app.
- Click the “More” tab.
- Select “Collect In-Person Payments.”
- Click “Next” and wait for the app to initialize the payment terminal.
- Enter the amount you would like the person to pay.
- Have the person tap their card or use tap-to-pay on their phone and wait until the transaction is complete.
- The money should arrive into the organization's Crowded account in 2-5 business days.
Does collecting payments on the phone connect to a Collection?
No, the money collected from in-person payments goes straight to the organization’s primary checking account.
Who can collect payments in person?
Both admins and contacts can collect payments in person, but the admin must first initialize the payment terminal.
Which phones support In Person Payments?
Only iPhone users will be able to use this feature currently.
How will the money collected from in-person payments be shown?
Admins can see the total amount of money collected in a day in the “Transactions” tab as a lump sum.
