How do I set up my admin/treasurer digital card?
As the account admin, you will automatically be issued a digital Visa® debit card. You can view your card details in the "Card" section on the web portal or mobile app.
How do I issue digital Visa® Debit Expense Cards to contacts?
Web:
Option 1:
- From the main dashboard click on "Cards" and select Admin Cards or Expense Cards:
- This will lead you to choose whether you want to issue a digital or physical card. To issue a digital Visa® Debit Cards to one or more contacts, click "Digital Card."
- Then, search and select your contact's name in the search bar...
- Confirm the amount of digital cards that you would like to issue and that is it!
Option 2:
- Click on "Contacts" from the side menu on the main dashboard, type in your contact's name in the search bar, click on the Contact's name, and then select "Issue Expense Card" and follow the same flow as above!
Option 3:
- Click on "Cards" from the side menu on the main dashboard and select the "Issue Expense Card" button in the top corner of the page.
From there, follow the same flow as above...
Mobile:
- Select "Contacts" from the bottom navigation menu, scroll or search to find the member, tap on the desired member, and then select "No Debit Cards Yet - Order them now" to enter the sign up flow
- This will lead you to choose whether you want to issue a digital or physical card.
- To issue a digital Visa® Debit Cards, click "Digital Card."
- And then confirm:
You have successfully added a digital card for your contact 🥳.
How do I freeze/unfreeze a contact’s digital card?
Web:
- Navigate to the main dashboard, select the "Cards" section, and then click on "Expense Cards" at the top of the screen.
- Select the contact(s) whose card you would like to freeze by clicking on the rectangle next to their name and then click on "Freeze" in the pop-up that appears at the bottom of the screen.
Mobile:
- Navigate to the main dashboard, select "Contacts," and then search or scroll to find the member(s) whose card you would like to freeze.
- Once you have located the member, tap on their name and then select "Freeze Card."
How do I add a Crowded digital debit card to my virtual wallet?
Apple Wallet
- From the main dashboard of the mobile app, locate your digital card by swiping left or right and click "Details".
- Tap on the "Add to Apple Wallet" button.
- If you're having trouble adding your card to your digital wallet, try freezing and un-freezing your card and then add it to your Apple Wallet again.
To manually add your Crowded digital card to your Apple Wallet:
- Go to the Wallet app.
- Tap on '+'
- Tap on Debit or Credit Card
- Tap on 'Continue'.
- Tap 'Enter card Details Manually.'
- Log into your Crowded app. Click into the card you'd like to add to Apple Pay.
- Click 'View Card Details' and enter your passcode and wait for the text message with a unique code.
- Click on the 16-digit card number to copy to clipboard.
- Return to the Wallet app and paste into the 'Card Number' field. Fill in the CVV and expiration date too, and click 'Next'.
- Read the Issuer Terms and tap 'Accept'.
- After, you'll be prompted to ‘verify' the new card and choose the method.
- Please select the text message option. You'll receive a one-time passcode to your phone.
- Enter the code and you’ll be good to go 🤑
Google Wallet
- From the main dashboard of the mobile app, tap on the plus sign and then select "Card Details."
- Locate your digital card by swiping left or right and click "Details."
- Press the "Add to Google Pay" button.
- Then, select the Google account associated with your Google Pay account.
To manually add your Crowded digital debit card to Google Pay:
- Open the Google Wallet app.
- At the bottom, tap Add to Wallet +.
- Tap Payment card.
- Any cards you saved to your Google Account are shown.
- Tap New credit or debit card.
- To add a card, use your camera or tap Enter details manually.
- Log into your Crowded app. Click into the card you'd like to add to Apple Pay.
- Click 'View Card Details' and enter your passcode and wait for the text message with a unique code.
- Click on the 16-digit card number to copy to clipboard.
- Return to the Wallet app and paste into the 'Card Number' field. Fill in the CVV and expiration date too, and click 'Next'.
- At the bottom, tap Save.
- Read the Issuer Terms and tap Accept.
- If you’re asked to verify your payment method, choose SMS.
- Learn how to verify your payment method.
- You'll receive a one-time passcode to your phone.
- Enter the code and you’ll be good to go 🤑.
Tip: After this step, you should get a message that your card was added and is ready to make contactless payments in stores, online, or in apps where Google Pay is accepted. If you get a different message, learn to fix a problem.
After you add a card, you might find a small transaction on your account from Google Wallet. This transaction checks that your card and account are valid. This transaction will soon disappear and won’t affect your balance.
How do I add a Crowded card to Apple Pay on a Computer?
To add your Crowded virtual debit card to Apple Pay on your Mac, you'll first need to ensure Apple Pay is set up.
- Sign in to your Apple Account: If you're not already signed in, do so via the Apple menu > System Settings > Apple ID.
- Open System Settings on your computer and navigate to Wallet & Apple Pay
- Click "Add Card" and "Enter Card Details Manually"
- Log into the Crowded app or web platform. Click into the card you'd like to add to Apple Pay
- Click 'View Card Details' and enter your passcode and wait for the text message with a unique code.
- Click on the 16-digit card number to copy to clipboard.
- Return to the Settings app and paste into the 'Card Number' field. Fill in the CVV and expiration date too, and click 'Next'.
- Confirm and complete the process and you should be good to go!
How do I add a Crowded card to Google Pay on Chrome?
- Sign in to your Google Account associated with your Google Pay profile.
- Navigate to your payment methods settings within your Google Account.
- Click the "Add a payment method" button.
- Choose the "Credit or debit card" option.
- Log into the Crowded app or web platform. Click into the card you'd like to add to Apple Pay
- Click 'View Card Details' and enter your passcode and wait for the text message with a unique code.
- Click on the 16-digit card number to copy to clipboard.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to enter your card information.
- You may be prompted to verify your card through a small charge or a verification code sent to your phone.
- Your Crowded card will be linked to Google Pay and can be used to complete purchases on Chrome or with any Google connected smartphone!
How do I add funds to a contact's digital Expense card?
Web:
To add funds to a contact's card, navigate to the main dashboard and click on "Add Funds" in the Expense Cards section.
Select the contact(s) you wish to add funds to their cards by clicking on the rectangle next to their name, and then confirm your selection by clicking on "Select X Cards."
Next, enter the amount and reason for the funds, which can be the same or different for each member.
Finally, click on "Send $X to X Cards" to complete the transaction.
Mobile:
- From the mobile app’s main dashboard, tap on the three dots that appear under the image of your card and then select "Add to Expense Cards."
- Select the contact(s) you wish to add funds to by tapping on the circle next to their name and then confirm your selection by clicking on "Select X Cards."
- Next, enter the amount and reason for the funds, which can be the same or different for each member.
- Finally, click on "Send $X to X Cards" to complete the transaction.
Who can view transactions made on digital cards?
Account admins can see all transactions made on any member’s digital Visa® debit cards, while members can only view transactions made on their personal digital Visa® debit cards.
Can I use my digital card outside of the United States?
Yes, you can use your digital Visa® debit card to make purchases while traveling outside of the United States everywhere Visa® is accepted.
Can I withdraw cash from an ATM using a virtual card?
ATM withdrawals using virtual Visa® cards are not currently supported.
Please use your organization's physical debit card to withdraw cash from an ATM. You can find an ATM near you using our ATM locater.
How do I redeem funds from a member’s digital Expense or Per Diem card?
As an account admin, you can redeem funds from any member’s Expense or Per Diem digital Visa® debit card.
- Log into the Crowded web portal.
- From the main dashboard, go to Cards.
- Select Expense Cards.
- Locate the member's expense card or Per Diem card from which you wish to redeem funds.
- Click on Redeem Money.
- Enter the amount and click on Redeem.
