Can I deposit cash into my Crowded account?
If you have a physical Admin, Expense or Per Diem debit card, you may be able to deposit cash into your account. Only the AllPoint+ ATMs in the US allow cash deposits with a physical debit card. Search through AllPoint locations and Filter to Allpoint+ Cash Deposit ATMs to find the location closest to you!
If you are located in an area that is not close to any Allpoint+ Cash Deposit ATMs, please see our Rural Deposits guide with a special offer
Are there limits on how much cash I can deposit?
Yes. Here are some restrictions to keep in mind when depositing cash:
Deposit up to $2,000 per card per day.
However, each individual deposit can only be: $1,000 at a time or 100 bills at a time (whichever limit is reached first)
Tip: Deposit less than the limit to reduce rejections. We suggest depositing $990 per deposit.
If you expect a large volume of cash deposits, ensure your organization has multiple physical cards for deposits, or consider a cashier's check.
Why is my cash deposit being rejected?
ATMs may reject crumpled, torn, worn or folded bills. To ensure your cash deposit is accepted, use flat, unwrinkled bills and do not deposit more than the daily limit.
Tip: Flatten bills ahead of time for faster acceptance.
What should I do if the cash deposit is rejected?
Here are a few actions to try if your cash deposit is being rejected:
1. Cancel the transaction and start over with a smaller amount.
2. Ensure that the bills you are inserting are not overly worn, crumpled, torn or folded
3. Ensure your daily deposit limit has not been exceeded.
4. If inserted $100, try inserting smaller bills instead. (If the ATM is located in a store, they may be willing to exchange cash)
5. Use a different Crowded card (a different Admin card, Expense Card or Per Diem card).
If issues continue, use a different Allpoint+ ATM when possible.
Can Contacts deposit cash on behalf of my org?
Yes! Let trusted members deposit cash with their physical Expense or Per Diem card at Allpoint Plus ATMs. The cash they deposit will go to their Expense Card/Per Diem Card, not the org's primary checking account.
If members are depositing cash on behalf of the organization, redeem the funds from the Expense card or Per Diem card to the primary checking account.
1. Log in to Crowded on the web
2. Click on 'Cards' on the sidebar and navigate to the Expense Cards or Per Diem Cards tab
3. Select the contact who deposited the cash from whom you'd like to redeem the funds
4. Click 'Redeem' and click 'Max Amount' to empty their card balance, or enter the amount to redeem.
5. The funds will be instantly transferred to your primary checking account!
Can digital cards be used to deposit cash?
Unfortunately not. Only physical cards can be used to deposit cash.
How can I deposit cash if there are no eligible ATMs close by?
For those who need to deposit cash into their account, but are not located near any Allpoint Plus ATMs, Crowded offers an alternate method for depositing cash into your Crowded Account - deposit cash with money orders!
Buy a money order with the cash you’d like to deposit into Crowded. This can be done at various locations (we recommend the post office) and then deposit the money order like you would a check.
